HOW TO USE KARMA FOR OUR SPIRITUAL DEVELOPMENT
In the Grail Message, ABDRUSHIN(ABD-RU-SHIN) often alludes to the law of reciprocity of effects, this law which forces us, sooner or later, to reap the effects of whatever we have made others taste through our thoughts. , our words, and our actions.
This law, JESUS once expressed it in these terms: "What a man sows he will reap". In other words, what a human being does to others, whether good or bad, he will one day have to taste it himself.
Once the seed is sown, it is difficult to know when the harvest will come back to us. As Abdruschin (Abd -ru – shin) says:
“When this will happen, however, varies greatly. It can still be in the same earth-life in which his first volition made the beginning for it, but it can equally well happen in the Ethereal World, when the gross material body has been laid aside, or later still in yet another gross material earth-life. The variations are not important here, they do not free man from the consequences. . »(Extract of Lecture Fate).
The harvest of our sowing - that is, karma - therefore shapes a great number of circumstances and events in our life. Everything that happens to us is either prepared directly to help us mature, to progress, to surpass ourselves, or - and it is almost always the case - the fruit of our past sowing. But, even then, we can and should use it for our spiritual growth.
The primary role of karma is not to reward or punish us, but to educate us. By making us taste the effects of our actions on others, it teaches us what to do and what not to do. When we have to experience the effects of our past behavior on ourselves, this gives us the opportunity to learn what kind of behavior we can adopt towards those around us and what other kind is best to avoid.
But, in the majority of cases, humans do not learn the lessons they should learn from every experience. They do not know that an educating hand directs all the big and small events of our daily life.
Even those who are aware of the existence of the law of reciprocity of effects do not take it seriously enough because, when a misfortune strikes them, they are still too inclined to accuse others or any cause of being responsible first. of this misfortune that affects them. They also show their lack of conviction in this law when they look for concrete ways to get out of a difficult situation without even looking if, in themselves, in themselves, there would not be something to change. so that this situation does not repeat itself.
In short, despite their knowledge of this law, they do not see clearly enough to recognize the subtle links that directly link events that affect them from the outside with certain weaknesses that still exist within them.
